While all minky fabric stretches, the stretch differs due to varying levels of quality between different brands. And because it is a knit with a pile and a nap, it requires different notions and techniques from quilting cottons. Minky fabrics are a knit, so they do stretch, but without that quality it wouldn’t be nearly as supple or soft to the touch. Problem #1: Is it hard to sew with minky plush fabric because it stretches? We recommend double pinning minky plush fabric to reduce the stretch while sewing. Is minky fabric baby-friendly?
