The main improvement I would request is an "undo" button. The app does an excellent job of maintaining the tessellation as you draw. (Or, if you like, it's less like pixel drawing and more like vector drawing.) Of course, you do not have complete freedom to draw whatever shape you want because the shape must tessellate. It's less like painting and more like drawing with a ruler. In other words, the three corners of a triangle together make up a straight line. At each point, there are six corners, consisting of two copies of each corner of the triangle three on one side of a line and three on the other side. You then get to change the shape by "drawing" with your finger. Six triangles fit around each point of the tessellation. In this app, you choose from a variety of tessellation shapes such as triangle and square. Some more example shots would help this problem.

From the description, it is not entirely clear what this app does. Tessellations can be produced using any drawing package, even quite simple ones. The figure contains three different rhombus shapes (they are the same rhombus in different orientation). To be able to fill each rhombus, it needs to be drawn individually.

Unity lets you choose from pre-built render pipelines, or write your own. I would draw based the rhombus shape because it will allow you to fill them with different colors.
